Sussex Job for Cinque Ports Man!
The Annual General Meeting of Sussex RFU on Tuesday 17th June saw Cinque Ports Rugby Secretary Peter Silk elected as Secretary of Sussex RFU. St Leonards based Silk has been a feature of rugby in Sussex for many years, and is widely respected for his commitment to developing the game throughout the county. Peter's influence stretches far and wide and his friendship with Belgian RFU President Dany Roelands sees A Belgian XV face a Sussex XV at Lewes on August 23rd.
Cinque Ports team manager Gavin Thomas said "It's a great honour for Peter and the club. Peters work in developing club, women's and representative rugby in this county certainly needs honouring, and I can't think of a better way to do it. I look forward to working with him at our club and at a county level". Cinque Ports Hall of Famer Silk will no doubt be a credit to the club he co-founded, and all members of the club wish him well!
