The new Sussex 3 season sees St Leonards based Cinque Ports RFC starting at home against Eastbourne 3rd XV on 6th September. The following week sees a short away trip for a derby fixture against Hastings & Bexhill 3rd XV. The 20th September then sees another home fixture against League new boys Heathfield & Waldron 4th XV. Throughout the season Ports will play all seven league sides twice and will also play three playoff games decided by league position. Whilst the three opening fixtures see Cinque Ports face three of the stronger teams, team manager Gavin Thomas sees this as a very positive start. "With these three opening games we can test ourselves against last seasons runners up and fourth placed teams, we can also see very early if Bill Langley's target of a top five finish is realistic or whether we should be considering an even more exacting target".

Alongside these league fixtures Ports have also announced a series of two friendly fixtures against Brighton 4th XV. Anyone interested in organising a fixture against Cinque Ports should contact Gavin Thomas
