Dany Roelands played for Belgium internationally, and went on to become an International referee. He took part in the 1991 Rugby World Cup, which included officiating matches in Otley and at Ravenhill. 

FIRA-AER Recognition
He was given recognition by the FIRA-AER last year (2007) when he was presented with the prestigious Gold Medal for his work in promoting rugby in Belgium.
